Siegmund Gole

┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈

Ms. Sentoki was definitely a strange one. She seemed to hold a sense of.. Lower esteem for her own regards, unlike the other organic lifeforms Siegmund had spent extended time with. Was this a common situation for adolescents of the humanoid nature? His thesis seemed to be proven accurate at his own mentioning of being defective. Ms. Sentoki was quickly able to reflect that her own bioluminescence, though spectacular in presentation, was not a naturally occuring scenario of her kind. That she bore a power previously that messed with her head only further solidified his theories on her persona, as the distance was closed between them. Lifting a metal hand up, Siegmund placed it upon her shoulders until their eyes met. ”From a logical standpoint, your ‘abnormalities’ towards your own kind would not be classified as a defect, more of.. An adaptation. To remove the ‘voices in your head’, that is no small feat. I on the other hand..” The hand left her shoulder as he looked to the sky. ”Wish to hear the voices once more. There is nothing there but the emptiness, the black void.” He paused his executive words from continuing, a rapid approach of blinking before looking over to Ellie. ”My apologies, I did not mean to stray from the topic at hand. In regards to my ‘original programming’, the individuals who found me have noted that I am far from doing the task I was created for.” His voice, though monotone in high regards, shared some small, miniscule concern in it. ”Systems indicate seeking my primary function is essential, but perhaps I lost such knowledge for a set purpose.”

Despite their darkened route of conversational pieces, Siegmund was finding the interaction to be quite educational. He was learning things about this realm he was unaware of, and getting a chance to ‘bond’ with a student. If that wasn’t killing two birds with one stone, then his circuits didn’t know what was. Ms. Sentoki apologized for her breaking of his protocols, but when his smile came about, she shared a brief moment of joy with his presence. As the fireworks added to the situation, giving them flickering colors of light that mirrored upon the oceans waves, she gave a suggestion for help. A diary? Shaking his head, Siegmund held up his hands. ”Unobtainable. Books, especially older pieces of literature, have a high risk of catching fire within my grasp or presence. Protocols indicate that my chances of keeping a ‘diary’ would be best left to telling my memories to a ghost writer. Another individual to write them for me.” Though the thought wasn’t his own, he didn’t actually think of implementing such a thing. Who would want to listen to a Golem ramble on about what he’s experienced and seen anyways?

Ί don't want to set the orld on fire
I just want to start a Ƒlame in your eart

Soon, the situation took a turn towards the prior scenario Siegmund had found Ms. Sentoki in, the tears and sorrow returning to her lively face, the aura of uneasiness simply radiating off her. Though most couldn’t tell such things from simply looking at someone, Siegmund somehow could just… feel it. Like, a little needle on a gauge in his systems was telling him to check up on her. Watching her wade back to shore, the Golem was slow to return in suit, his limbs having to use more and more fuel to simply get the water out of his system. The attire he wore was soaked, but was beginning to dry in a rather fast rate due to the excessive heat he was producing. Reaching into a pocket, he pulled out a flask, opening the cap and pouring the alcoholic contents down his throat, adding to the fires inside.

As the Golem was tending to his own requirements, his sensors could see the stability in Ms. Sentoki’s condition worsening, her body heaving lightly in and out with the sobs she produced. She was in a state of unhappiness, clearly in need of someone. Joining her side, Siegmund remained stoically quiet as Ellie explained herself. It seemed that another living organism, a male one by her pronouns, was the potential source of her current condition. Further evidence shared from her sobs and tears was he was in fact her roommate. Such atrocities were not to be dealt with by physical involvement on that front, so as Ms. Sentoki reached for her hand, Siegmund took action. With as much tender, gentle touch as a Golem could muster, he took her hand within his own, the radiating fire within his system wafting from his hand. ”I can remain by your side and keep you company for as long as you require it Ms. Sentoki.”

Bringing Ellie away from any potential crowds, the duo sat on a bench sturdy enough to support Siegmund, and simply talked. Though her voice was cracking from her emotional state, Siegmund deciphered the words she spoke as he attempted to distract her mind. He asked her how long she’d been attending the school, shared information about his own occupational tasks at the school here. He even revealed a bit of his past occupations, about being an escort for scouting groups out in the wastelands of his homeworld. He strayed from speaking too much on the status of the world, knowing that a subject that grim could spiral Ms. Sentoki back into a sob fest. As the evening carried on further into the night, the sleepy eyes of Ms. Sentoki began to grow heavy, her body slouching over to one side to further punctuate her tiredness. Since she never gave the dismissal, Siegmund took it upon himself to see to her sleeping soundly in a secure location.

Leaning her head against his chest, Siegmund scooped up the sleeping Ellie Sentoki in his arms, carrying her bridal style so to not let her fall. In a stoic manner, he began to make his journey back to his own suite room, a suitable location for a sleeping individual to sleep away the rough day. As he traveled, his own silence was flooded with memories of a previous consciousness. Of carrying another organic lifeform in his arms before. Did this memory have meaning? Images of his own self carrying another young woman in his arms flickered in and out of his visuals. Of fields of flowers and shifting grass. To bright blue skies above, and the sound of life all around him. Before long, the often silent Golem found himself humming and clicking to a peculiar tune, before gently singing a peaceful tune. The voice seemed foreign to his own existence, but carried with it a sense of… comfort. To a simpler time.

Once in his own suite, Siegmund shifted his position to the couch, gently laying Ms. Sentoki on the couch with ease. Propping a pillow underneath her weary head, he brushed a few stray strands of hair from her face, placing a blanket over her to keep her warm. In a quiet whisper, he bore a millisecond smile. ”Goodnight Ellie Sentoki, may your dreams be filled with comfort and serenity.”

The events after letting student Sentoki sleep on his couch were uneventful, Siegmund finding himself shifting over to the corner to do maintenance to remove salt residue from his systems. Eventually removing ninety nine point nine percent of the residue, Siegmund went into his own artificial sleep cycle, letting his pilot light fall into a small flame so as to slumber. In the morning, his systems quickly added kindling to his furnace, getting his systems fully operational again. As visual sensors reactivated, he found that Ms. Sentoki was no longer on the couch, having been transported via the academy to her own dorm room during the night. Finding it a suitable morning, Siegmund began preparing a meal for Abney, his roommate. She was probably going to require food this morning, considering her rough arrival yesterday.

Toni listened as Arika clarified that it was not a sad or lonely existence it was just the one she had. While this was true perception was reality. The existence that Arika suggested was not one that Toni would want but then again not everyone would want hers either. At the mention of death Toni had to close her mouth and just look up at the sky. She didn’t want to get into that debate at all. Eventually as the night winded down Toni would excuse herself and head back to her dorm. If Arika had wanted her to show her how to get there Toni would have gladly lent that hand.

The next morning.

Waking the next morning Toni stretched slightly and grew confused as she felt something warm in the bed with her. Shifting she looked and saw a person laying next to her. Wrinkling her nose she wondered if this would be a common thing or was she supposed to freak out. Rolling her eyes at the thought she just shifted and got out of the bed. Taking a better look at the person she realized it was one of her classmates. Dane? Wasn’t that his name?

Not caring enough to stick around she grabbed some clothes and headed for the bathroom to shower and get ready for the day.

It had been a quiet morning for the Golem, finding solace in the silence. Perhaps the events of the day before were meant to give him a remembrance of times long forgotten, or perhaps they were an omen. Was he meant to destroy, or to repair? Numerous calculations and evaluations of his own construction cycled through his processors for some time, each one waning on winning over the others. In the end however, he was left with more unsolved answers than he was with questions. Nevertheless, Siegmund didn’t let his processing to interrupt the task he’d set before himself, making a meal for his room mate. What he hadn’t factored in though was how much his body would function whilst in the middle of processing, as when his sensors came to full attention to the kitchen, he found a full five course meal having been prepped before him. Had he unconsciously made a huge, vast amount of food for a single individual? Was this to be seen as a chance of impressing? Whatever the reason, Siegmund wasn’t sure what Ms. Abney could stomach..

Ί don't want to set the orld on fire

The instant Abney staggered out of the room, the aromas of various breakfast foods could be smelled. Fresh off the griddle pancakes smothered in various berry sauces, sausage links with honey ham and bacon. Belgian waffles piled high with apples and bananas, a mere mountain of whipped cream coating the disk of fried dough. A monstrous omelette filled with so many toppings, the sides were at the brim of breaking internally. The instant she sat down in the chair though, Siegmund was across to her side, a freshly brewed cup of coffee set next to her. ”Good morning Ms. Abney. Some coffee to help negate the morning fatigue.” He left the coffee and numerous creamers, sugar packets, and a spoon at her side. Returning to the kitchen, he grabbed two plates at a time, setting them next to Abney and her coffee cup on the table, a hand gesturing over the plate. ”Breakfast is served. Have what you will of the meals, I do not require such sustenance.” His voice was monotone as usual, as he returned to the kitchen to clean. He finished cleaning to thusly join her at the table, sitting across from her with a stack of newspaper by one hand, a bottle of absinthe next to his other.

In my eart I have but one Đesire
And that one is Ɏou, no Øther will do

Wadding up the newspaper, Siegmund took the bottle of absinthe and doused the ball of paper in it, tossing said ball into his mouth. The instant the alcohol drenched paper reached his furnace, a small flicker of reds and oranges could be see in the slits and vents on his neck could be seen. His eyes fixated on Abney, on the food she was eating, and on her expression to his prepared meal. ”Was there a student in the room when you returned?” He spoke, a bit blunt as another doused paper ball was consumed.

Abney

The smell of the food was divine for the starving Engineer, who laid her head on the counter when she got to it. Despite how distressed she was just a few hours ago, the Engineer managed to sleep alright after trying to picture home. The more you imagined sounds, the more they became real in your mind. Siegmund was next to her in a second, offering her coffee and, had she known him like she knew the cooks on Odin, she would have kissed him in thanks. “Thank yooooou so much.” she said, tiredly reaching for the liquid. The witch made a happy sound, sipping on the energizing liquid immediately, not bothering with the sugar or cream as her tired eyes cracked open and was assaulted by the colors on the counter. Abney stilled, her eyes traveling over all of the food; was Siegmund nervous about something or was this completely normal? Managing to remember to swallow her coffee, she glanced at him then back to the table. “I - I know I’m skinny but damn!” she mumbled, completely thinking the Golem had made the full course meals due to her tiny frame in an attempt to make sure she ate or thinking that she didn’t partake in food. Half of it, she had never seen before in her life!

Siegmund turned to cleaning, leaving Abney to her thoughts but she soon interrupted him, lightly pulling on his shirt to get his attention. Pointing at the omelette - she leaned a bit closer to him, her brows furrowed. “What’s that?” she asked honestly, looking at him in confusion. That is when Siegmund learned that Abney has never seen nor had an omelette before. Among the list of things she never had was Belgian waffles and a few other various foods around the table. The Golem had to educate and coax the Engineer into trying the new things, all the while Abney was giving the foods, and Siegmund, side glances of mixed emotions and reluctance. A little more coaxing and Abney tried the smallest bite of the omelette, trying not to let the yellow color throw her off. She hummed in thought, nodding her head and began to try more bites of things easier and with less coaxing, learning not to question Seigmund’s cooking again. Abney noted Siegmund dousing paper with alcohol before eating that, his flames shooting bright and letting out soft waves of heat. In the back of her mind, she noted to try and find an alternate solution so he didn’t have to eat… newspaper… She grimaced at the idea. Siegmund’s flat voice turned her attention to him, the engineer blinking at his question before nodding. “Yeah - she was sleeping on the couch as I got back. She looked so sad, I wish I coulda helped.” Abney admitted, putting the fork down and taking a break from eating to sip her coffee. She had easily put down just over half of what Seigmund had cooked, not realizing she was as hungry as she was. Who knew falling through portals in realms could stir up an appetite!

It was then the school decided to, essentially, troll the new teacher by dropping the school approved cellphone on her head. The piece of technology bounced from her head to the table in front of her, narrowly missing the syrup from the waffles "Ow!” she cried, managing to hold onto the cup full of hot liquid and not spill it all over herself as she jerked in reaction to being hit. Abney set the cup down and rubbing where the phone hit, her eyes going to the ceiling. “What is your obsession with my head?! Stop it!” the witch cried, flipping the ceiling off before looking at the phone.

Hello! As a follow up to some disturbances from yesterday, please inform me right away if any students display strange behavior! – Zila

“Who the fuck is Zila?” Abney mumbled to herself, Ostrava’s words ringing in her ears just a second later; “... As a Paladin of Zila…” Abney pursed her lips, figuring this to be the same person. So this was a deity of some sort… texting her on a phone… “Oh god I have to teach a class…” she realized, her brain switching tracks of thought in a second, green eyes shooting up to look at Seigmund in realization. “Can… can I bother you to lead me to whatever classroom I’m in?” the witch asked in embarrassment, giving him a nervous smile.

Thankfully the Golem willingly lead her to the classroom, which Abney was very thankful for. The room was lovely, wide and open; seemingly one of those library-like classrooms. Light poured in from windows that lined the sides, red carpet soft and lush under her bare feet. In the back of her mind, she made another note to get shoes. As soon as the thought entered her mind, Abney instinctively ducked, holding her head and frantically looking at the ceiling but nothing came down. Breathing a sigh of relief, despite how ridiculous she just looked, the new ‘teacher’ made her way to the front of the class, hopping up the hardwood steps and looking at her desk. “By Odin,” she mumbled, enthralled by the classroom. It was just a few moments later the students started popping in, much to Abney’s surprise. Gaping like a fish out of water, her mind scrambled to figure out something for the kids to do. She had no idea what others might have taught them, so why not a test of what they could do? Waiting for the kids to stop popping in at random, including a screaming girl with purple hair. The crystal witch stared at the girl until she stopped screaming, blinking slowly. “Welcome to class! Mind our ears next time though, yeah?” she asked, motioning for the girl to sit. Abney delivered the assignment as confidently as she could, figuring if the kids knew she had no idea what she was doing, there might be chaos.

The kids looked confused, shuffling about as Abney jumped on the table, sitting on it and watching them carefully before glancing to Seigmund. “Y’know,” she started a conversation with him, leaning over in his direction more. “I could whip something up for you, if you wanted, so you didn’t have to eat paper?” she offered, glancing at him

That subtle cheery tone in her voice at receiving coffee, it was noted as a high priority for his newly assigned roommate. Caffeinated beverages were often favored by intellectual sapient organisms.. Or at least that’s what studies had shown. To see the color return to her features in a metaphorical sense, Siegmund again punctuated the notation that Abney needed coffee in the morning. Letting his processors keep the tally marks and silly statistics, he found her reaction to his meal preparations to be.. Humorous. At least in a logical sense that is. Making note of her regarding her own physique based around his food quantity, Siegmund simply shook his head in disregard. ”Your physical body mass and thusly accumulated weight has had no factor upon the meal before you Ms. Abney. My sensors have indicated that a properly bountiful meal is what would suit you in this current status.” He paused, the notion of his own enjoyment for culinary arts springing to life. ”Besides, making food for organic consumption gives my existence purpose. So, indulge me if you will.” A small smirk for a millisecond. A quick jab of humor if you will. He thought himself a witty individual on that regard.

After setting the table with an array of food, Siegmund was perplexed at her hesitation to eat, the notion of all these things being foreign only dawning on him as she questioned what things were. How could he not have factored that ideology into his preparations. ”My apologies, I hadn’t considered researching food from your own reality beforehand.” He gave a slight bow, before explaining each and every single meal he made. From the common name down to every single ingredient used to make them, in chronological order to being added to the meal of course. Things were organized neatly that way for a reason. With constant insisting that each meal was edible and healthy, Siegmund watched with a small spark of enthusiasm at her first bites. To see her full heartedly eat the meals he made was a good sign, Siegmund went about preparing his own food consumption as she ate.

Abney’s eyes weighed heavily on Siegmund’s external sensors, indicating she was making a mental note of his actions. Was his consumption of paper and liquor that appalling? It was a bit concerning for their rooming if his actions caused her discomfort. Deciding a quick change of subject would be a good approach, Siegmund inquired about Ellie being here when Abney returned. It seemed his thoughts were confirmed, along with Abney picking up on the sorrows the young student had. ”She made the request of my presence within her proximity for the evening. My calculations predict a male counterpart of highly sought social interactions is the culprit for her misery. I would estimate about… forty seven point three percent accuracy on that evaluation.” Though not much of a social butterfly, Siegmund was good at reading the room. It came with having a computer for a brain after all.

Abney was struck by a falling object, one that seemed to materialize just for the sole purpose of striking her cranium. Was it form of humor supplied by the school or faculty? Siegmund watched as the female in question yelled at the ceiling, as if to scold the existence that was Heartless. Curious. She spat out an annoyed tone about who Zila was, Siegmund consuming another liquor drenched newspaper. ”Ms. Zila is the school’s security guard, and from a few realities, revered as a Goddess of Wishes.” A textbook quotation, Siegmund soon went about cleaning whilst his roommate dwelled on the concept of teaching. It wasn’t until she asked him for a favor, an escort to her classroom. Giving a nod, Siegmund finished up his task before leading towards the door. ”Today is my ‘day off’ from the bar, so I can show you to your classroom.” Rather quiet during his trip there, Siegmund kept a decent pace, both to let Abney observe the world around her and to get her there on time. Nothing worse than a late teacher to her own class!

In my eart I have but one Đesire

Seeing her eyes wander to the various parts of the room, Siegmund stepped off to the side as she inspected everything. This feeling of watching over curious organic life was somewhat nostalgic for Siegmund, though his processors could not find a reliable source for these memorial concepts. Eventually witnessing the arrival of students, Siegmund remained in the corner of the room whilst Abney issued out the assignment. A singular girl was screaming upon entry for some odd reason, but Siegmund was unmoved by it. Approaching the desk as the students went to do their assignments, Siegmund inspected a crystal as well, picking it up to stare into the refracted sides. Something like this could come in handy for a potential creation… His processors shifted to Abney’s words, a proposition to a commodity to replace his paper. ”My consumption of paper is not solely for that. I recycle whatever is discarded and unused. Was what I fueled myself back at home world. It used to be various trash and litter, in an effort to keep the organic dwellings hospitable.”

Abney

Siegmund’s comment about her homeland made Abney smile softly, almost sadly. She held back the commentary that it would be nigh impossible to research her true home but her secondary home was probably open for research. Thinking of home just made her heart clench tightly but she pushed it off, focusing on the here and now. And the here and now was sitting on the table in class, watching her students like, at least how she felt, a creeper.

The kids picked out their crystals, met up with their groups and got going. Watching the crackles of energy or even the shining of holy magic made Abney smile softly, knowing she had a hell of a bunch of kids. Talented, but raw power flowed through most of these kids and the concept was absolutely exciting. One by one, after time passed slowly and Siegmund’s assurance that his diet was for more than one or two reasons, the students came up and gave her the stones. A blonde boy asked if it would be alright and Abney gave a slight shrug and a smile. “You tell me.” she said vaguely, taking the stone as it was offered. The lights flickered ahead, Abney’s eyes cast upward in a moment. There was a slight feeling of dread that began climbing up her spine and she didn’t know why but it was best to send the kids off just in case. “Alright, you two are dismissed.” she said after a moment, watching the lights for just a moment more.

Eventually, all the kids came up and gave her the crystals and Abney tucked them safely away in her backpack. “Alright - I’ll grade these. I need to head to the woods for reasons, thanks for keeping me company! See you at the dorm later!” Abney bid to Siegmund, giving a wave over her shoulder at him as she skipped off. Unfortunately for the witch, she had no idea what was awaiting her in the forest or in the halls of the building.

Figuring she’d start her herbal collection and teach the kids the powerful potential of plants aiding in magic, a stroll through the woods to see what they had wouldn’t be a bad idea. That was until Abney stepped a few steps into the darker than usual forest and she looked around. It was so eerily quiet, making Abney stay where she was and observe. There were no birds or insects, nor the familiar, natural crackle of the forest. Just eerie silence. Slithering over her feet made her look down, finding that roots were now holding her feet in place or trying to. “What the f-” she began, trying to pull her feet up from the roots. A horrifying groan and crackle of bark made her look up just in time to see a tree pull it's branches back, like it was human, and swing at her.

The thick branch of the tree connected to her torso, ripping her up from the ground and sending her flying back into the school’s walls. For the second time that week, Abney’s body slammed into the school’s bricks and slid down them. Wheezing painfully, she clutched her torso in time to see vines and more branches hurling toward her. Instinctively, Abney threw her hands up and a wall of fire formed in a second between her and the sentient wild life. Horrifying screams erupted from the wildlife as it came into contact with the fire. Dropping the fire long enough, Abney started a half stumble, half run back to the building as fast as she could, jumping over angry vines erupting under her feet. “Oh shit! Oh shit!” she chanted, sliding into the doorway and slamming it behind her and the foliage began hitting it angrily. “Bind.” Abney commanded, a glowing circle forming in front of the door, holding it closed long enough for her to take off running down the hall.

The spell wouldn’t hold forever, not with some angry tree’s slamming on the door. Sentient forestry, flickering lights - Abney had to wonder if the place was damn haunted or something at the moment. Turning the corner, Abney found herself smacking into another person into her run, sending her back to the floor with a grunt. “Oh f- sorry bro!” she said, getting her bearings again.

To watch Abney work, or… to watch her instruct children to try out an assignment, was intriguing. Her rather leisure seating arrangement atop the table, added with her own personal demeanor and mannerisms.. Siegmund had a lot to calculate in this class setting. Each of the students had a different way of approaching the given task. Keeping to his secluded spot in the corner, Siegmund crossed his arms over his chest to observe the various children until the bell tolled. With each student turning in their assignment crystals to Abney, he wondered what she was going to do for ‘grading’ them. Was there a calculated method to this madness?

Children left, along with Abney dismissing herself off to who knows where, leaving the golem in isolation. What was he to do for the rest of his evening? Protocols indicated finding Ms. Ellie to check up on her current condition seemed highly probable, but another notion seemed to override this idea. Venturing out of the now emptying room, Siegmund got only to the door frame before receiving a notification from the Academy itself. Pausing and blinking, he let the message scroll over his vision, its contents describing the events unfolding. As if on cue, the sound of shrieks and cries of terror flooded the halls, their audible disruption a cause for concern. Protocols advised him to help out, to do what he could for the students. He was nearly indestructible really, so what did he have to fear?

Ί don't want to set the orld on fire

What kept him at bay was the following message that filled up the upper half of his vision, a direct message from the higher ups. Don't get involved. Those were the only true directions they have given Siegmund. The very notion of it perplexed the golem, why would such an academic place instruct him to avoid helping others? A residual surge overcame his circuitry within, as he made a decisive step to head for the dorm hallway.. But something twitched within his processors. As if without any of his own control, Siegmund’s body turned on a dime, instead causing him to head away from the students, away from the shrieks and audible concerns. No, instead the golem found himself standing in the basement bar, his usual place of residency. There was nobody there, a rather strange factor for himself to comprehend. He felt… compelled to leave, he wanted to assist, but his body wouldn’t cooperate. Making his way over to the bar counter, Siegmund found himself standing on the other side, awaiting customers to arrive. This was his place it seemed, and forever he would stay.

In my eart I have but one Đesire

A mental sigh to himself, Siegmund only shook his head. The school was forcing him to work now instead of assisting others. Picking up a glass, he began to wipe it clean when a small charm materialized before him, landing on the counter with a light Clink!. Blinking, he set the glass down, picking up this pumpkin charm and inspecting it thoroughly. Was this his ‘reward’ for ignoring others? Whatever the case, he stashed the charm into his lapel pocket, a low sigh escaping him. The issues with following orders.

Antonette Vanko

Toni reeled as she was tossed back into the school. Or at least that’s what she remembered and what it felt like as she snapped awake in her dorm room. Sitting upright in the bed she touched her brow and glasses. Rewinding Val she found nothing but a recording of her room… Nothing about a fight…

What the hell? Had she been dreaming?

She remembered getting up and showering but then nothing really after coming out… She could have sworn she fought someone with .. Time powers…. Had she been fighting Izado? That didn’t feel right. Standing now she shoved her hands in her pockets and only cocked her head as she felt something in her pocket as a notification came across her glasses. Apparently there was something going on with the dorms and some task but she had been given a charm? Confused she pulled the thing out of her pocket and found a pumpkin charm. Shrugging she put it back into her pocket before heading out.

Feeling vaguely annoyed she felt like she needed to head out somewhere. She thought about her friends briefly as she watched someone run by screaming. Good thing she really didn’t have any…. A brief flash of Siegmund’s face swept over her mind. With a sigh she spoke, ”Val find Sieg.” after a moment Val came online and spoke in her ear. ”He’s in the bar. I’ll put directions onscreen for you.” Val was so helpful.

With a smile Toni started out and quickly made her way to the bar. Vaguely she remembered that Sieg was staff but was he the bartender? Seeing him behind the bar she lifted a hand in greeting. ”Hey. Staying away from all the craziness too?” she pointed up and in the general direction of the dorms. Taking a seat at the bar across from him she looked at the shelf behind him wondering if she was allowed to have any of it…

A volatile concoction of sensors were welling up inside the furnace of Siegmund. Annoyance at his inability to overwrite the systems he was granted, confusion as to why they were isolating him from the others during a potential crisis, and curiosity towards what was truly going on in the first place. Flickering flames could be visibly noticed in his neck vents and forearms, as metallic hands scrubbed the glass vigorously clean. Faster and faster he scrubbed the glass, his eyes fixating on the door frame of the bar as intensity built up inside. Smoke was beginning to escape from his vents when the sound of footsteps snapped him out of this cycle. Sad to say this was a little too late, as his hand pushed through the cup, shattering shards of glass all over the counter. Halting in his actions, Siegmund was just standing there when Toni entered.

The hand gesture formerly associated with greetings came from the organic female upon her approach, whilst Siegmund nodded his head, grabbing a duster to brush all the glass into the trash. ”Greetings Ms. Toni. Apologies for the glass mess here at the counter. System overrides were acting on the fritz due to.. complications.” He spoke frankly, clearing the debris before she was able to seat. He hadn’t had a full chance to thank her for this replacement limb in a while, and serving her a drink could be helpful on clearing his sensors. ”What can I get you?”

Toni mentioned ‘craziness’ going on behind her, more precisely the location where he was being instructed to avoid. ”Suffice to say, I have been instructed by the higher ups to remain out of this conflict. Or at least that was in their memo I received.” He spoke frankly, A gazing stare past her face towards the stairwell itself. ”Protocols state I am to follow their orders but… Intense overrides are welling within my circuits asking for answers towards the phenomena.” If ever an expression could come to his face, it would be fierce intensity as he spoke, his eyes fixating on the doorway. Soon however, it vanished, looking directly at Toni as he spoke again. ”But, my other duty is to serve drinks and food here, so as a customer, your presence takes first priority.”

Whatever drink she ordered, Siegmund made with post haste, letting his body recall the location of each liquor and the necessary ingredients to mix up her poison of choice. Setting it before her, Siegmund straightened up. ”I have already thanked you before for these repairs but, I wish to express my gratitude once more Toni. Rare metals such as my construction are scarce it seems outside of my origin world, let alone the technology or know how to work with it.” He glanced down to his hands as he spoke, before looking to her face. ”Though, out of curiosity, why did you assist me? I had served no purpose of aiding you beforehand, yet after asking the residential Wish Goddess, you were able to manufacture and reconstruct my limb.”

Antonette Vanko

Toni blinked and shrugged as Seig said that he was sorry for the glass. Frankly it hadn’t even registered to her that there had been broken glass. Frowning though as he said that his systems overrides hadn’t been working. ”Do you need me to take a look at them for you?” She generally was concerned about him but at the same time wouldn’t mind getting a second peek at his processing units.

As he asked what she wanted she lifted an eyebrow and looked behind him to the selection. ”Killians please?” the amber ale was one of the better ones. If they didn’t have that she would probably just ask for a cider of some kind.

Tilting her head as he said he had been instructed to remain out of the conflict she wondered what he meant. ”Like a message that we get telling us about something?” she tapped her glasses to show him where she received her messages. Glancing over her shoulder at the stairs he was looking at she turned back to him and shrugged. ”People are experiencing random things unless they do a quest of sorts and receive one of these charms.” she held up her pumpkin charm to show him. ”I woke up with mine so I guess I’m off the hook. What programming were you trying to override and how?” she wondered if she would be able to hack the coding for whatever he was trying to bypass.

As a female she wanted to take his comment personal and think she was special but she was also practicle and that was not what he was saying at all. Sighing softly she leaned against the counter and took a sip of her beer as he thanked her again for helping him with his arm. ”Don’t mention it. It gave me a glimps into a new programming and build technique that I’ve never seen before.” hearing his other question she looked to her beer bottle for a moment thinking before answering. ”I like to tinker. You in the basic form, are a puzzle for me. Your programming is foreign, your construction is foreign, generally everything about you intrigues me. How are you alive? How have you survived for as long as you have?” she wasn’t sure she liked sharing this part but either way she was going to. ”The closest being I’ve ever encountered to you is Val and she’s an AI that I created. A friend I made for myself…” she frowned and looked down. ”I wanted to learn more about you so I could see if I could not only learn but maybe…. Just maybe… duplicate what you are to give Val a physical body as well. Yet I’m learning there are some fundamentals that are completely different between the two of you. I am in no way near competent enough to understand the ‘magical’ properties of your makeup.” she said magical with air quotes and sarcasm. Toni was not one to believe in magical but well she had been shown wrong several times already… generally magical things were things that science just hadn’t explained yet.

Siegmund Gole

Hearing Toni offer to inspect his protocols was genuine, but Siegmund shook his head in response. ”Would serve no overall purpose, as this is an isolated incident, from what my systems scan has analyzed.” Whether or not that was truly an accurate statement was… debatable. But for now Siegmund wasn’t going to press his luck. Hearing her ask for Killians, Siegmund was quick to pour her a glass, setting it before her as he went about conversing with the brilliant mind. Mentioning the message he received, Siegmund nodded at her own verification towards how her HUD display worked. ”Indeed. It seems the academy might have gotten ahold of my internal circuitry as well, at which point I do not know for certain, but it can prove to be useful.. Eventually.” He wasn’t quite sure how to go about expressing concern or praise for such a factor. What good could it bring, along with what horrors? Both were intriguing in their own way to investigate later on.

As Toni began to answer his perplexing question, she presented the pumpkin charm she awoke with, similar to the one he carried now. ”I see.. I also received one, but for staying in the bar.” He patted his chest pocket, indicating where he stashed his. Hearing her dig into his words for answers to questions, Siegmund tapped his skull. ”I was.. Intrigued to learn more about the issues going on, but upon an attempt to venture out, my body acted against my internal components, forcing me to enter the bar instead of seeking answers.” Toni seemed… interested in figuring out how he worked on that regard, as a metallic hand placed itself on the counter. ”I.. Do not understand why my presence here is dire, or why my position here serves a better purpose than being there for others.”

Ί don't want to set the orld on fire
I just want to start a Ƒlame in your eart

Bringing up both the sincerity of his gratitude for her work, along with why she was so into helping him, Siegmund leaned slightly on the counter. She found his design intriguing, a logical reasoning for helping him out he factored. ”I see.” He spoke bluntly, the lack of emotion could easily be taken as being annoyed or disheartened. ”I apologize for not knowing the blueprints used for my design, nor do I have access to any of those who constructed me in the first place.” His words fell short as Toni began to explain her curiosity with him. He was foreign in design and existence to her. Nothing about him made logical sense to her mind, her world, her reality. Yet.. despite all that she understood, what she had studied and learned in her lifespan, he was an existing thing. Watching her facial formation turn into a frown, along with her tone of voice growing to a more.. Somber feel, Siegmund reached for another beer for her.

Setting it next to her glass, Siegmund listened to her words. She was without companionship before constructing Val, her ‘AI’ she had. Yet, unlike Siegmund, Val was without a solid form, without a body. Studying Siegmund seemed to be a gateway for her to potentially find the breakthrough for Val’s existence. This factor alone seemed to be the halting point for Toni, as she spoke of not being able to comprehend his differences from Val. From her reality. Stepping around the counter, Siegmund approached Toni, sitting down on one of the stools next to her, before rotating the seat to face her. ”Again, apologies are in order, as there is not much I can share with you Toni. However..” He paused, his eyes fixating on hers. ”I can share with you what I can recall.”

”The world I come from is under turmoil. The planet had a cataclysmic event happen centuries ago, leading to the surface world turning to wastes. Oceans began to dry up, breathable gases for organic life became toxic. Super storms swept the terrains, destroying vast cities and countries. All of life went to ruin.” He paused, letting the information settle. ”I do not understand what era, nor how long after these events I was reactivated, but the organic life that found me had been around for generations. None of them knew the terms of safety or comfort. The planet was barren, desolate, and rather low technology.” He reached for his collar now, unfastening the shirt and suit he wore. Continuing to talk, he slowly removed his tie, suit, and shirt, exposing the synthetic flesh that made up most of his body, aside from his direct torso. ”Those who found me explained I must have come from ancient technology, perhaps from the last civilization to exist before the planet became ruin. Though my design was complex, my form of self energizing was not..” Reaching to his chest, he pointed out the small door like panel exposed on his chest, the sound of a roaring fire crackling just beyond the panel. Tapping on a small indentation of the panel, he opened his heart to her.

As the panel swung open, a small crackling fire was revealed, a single metal object sticking out from the bottom of the cavity. Upon it was a small red orb, burning with a similar design to a sun. Small flares of fire flickered from the orb core, crackling out and sending surges of heat in small intervals. ”This is my core processor. The ones who found me noted that, should the orb extinguish, I shut down until it’s reignited. Normally, no memory loss is recorded from an accidental extinguishing, however..” He paused again, the clause of his self termination about to be exposed. ”Should the core be extinguished for longer than twenty four hours, I have been informed it wipes my whole systems. Memories, experiences.. Everything. Is plausible for reasoning to my amnesia like status.” He left the panel open for Toni to inspect, wondering if his information was useful enough for her.

Antonette Vanko

Toni was slightly disappointed to hear that looking at his systems would serve no purpose. It would for her. Then again she shouldn’t be so selfish, even if it was to help her friend. ”I’d still like to look one day. Who’s to say they won’t make you do something you really don’t want to do?” she tried not to think about the amount of horror stories she had heard of robots going on a rampage. Glancing at him as he said he also had a pumpkin charm she nodded. Of course his would be for staying in the bar. He was the bartender after all. Her eyes lifted to his hair as he said that when he tried to leave his body acted against his wishes and came back to the bar. ”See that’s what I mean. If they can do that to your programming…. What else can they do?” she really wasn’t liking the idea of the ones who controlled the school, controlling Seig. When he questioned why he was in the bar her face turned a slight shade of red as a thought came across her mind. ”This was the first place I thought of coming when I woke up. I thought about checking on my friends and you were the first to come to mind.”

As she finished explaining that he was a puzzle to her his tone caught her off guard. The lack of inflection was a sharp knife to her skin. It wasn’t like she had asked him to reveal all of his secrets to her. Looking at the new bottle of beer she wondered if she had been asking him just that. It made her feel bad and wonder why had she really come to check on him? Val chirped a warning of the time in her ear but she paid it no mind.

Suddenly Seig was right next to her and telling her he would share what he could recall. Reaching up she tapped the side of her glasses to record him while he spoke. She listened carefully to his story and wondered what had really happened to his people. How had they gotten to that point of total destruction?

As he reached for his collar she almost didn’t hear the words he was saying as her eyes riveted to his clothing as he removed his tie, shirt, and suit… why hadn’t she noticed before that he was wearing a suit? He looked rather sexy in it… She felt as if her face was on fire as she shook her head and came back to herself. Her eyes carefully followed his hands as he opened the panel on his chest and then showed her the fire that was inside him. She had thought the sound was coming from a fireplace near them but no! It had been coming from him all along.

She heard what he was saying to her but the words didn’t compute. Leaning forward she lifted her hands and put them on his chest peering into the hole he had exposed. The small sun/fire device inside him made her very curious and well as her cool hands touched his flesh his body did give off a bit more heat than the average human. ”Do you not have a self defense mechanism to reignite it? That’s an easy enough fix really. What about cold do you have a weakness to that? This just seems like a terribly inconvenient fuel source. Do you have to feed the flame or is it self-perpetuating? You said a period over 24 hours causes essentially a system reset?” angling her head from near his chest too look up at him curiously she started tapping his peck with her right hand subconsciously. ”System wipes like that can still leave backup copies in the hard drive if you know where to look. Kind of like a recovery point. Where is your hard drive or what is your hard drive?” Shifting her face back down to look into his chest she suddenly remembered what she was doing and to whom…

Pulling back abruptly her face flamed red just as the bell for curfew rang and sent her right back to her dorm.
It was like a bucket of ice water had been poured on her. She couldn’t tell if she should be grateful or upset…. Pulling up the text display on her glasses she sent Seig a text.

To: Seig
Message:
I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to invade your personal space like that. I’d like to know more though! What happens when you try to access other parts of your hard drive?

Selecting send she sent the message and then looked around. She was in the living room area of her dorm. She didn’t readily see or hear her roommate.
