Tuesday April 18th
There was a strange swaying, Zila’s registered it from the corner of her mind the inky parasite had pushed her to. It didn’t want sleep, it had kept her awake for nearly half a week now. The goddess didn’t need to sleep as much as an average human, if she’d been at her strongest state, she wouldn't need sleep either, but as she was now? The lack of sleep was beginning to weaken her control even further. ’What’s the matter, pathetic god? Has this worm bested you?’ Mocked the creature, it’s dark, disturbed, unnatural laughter spilling from the goddess’s lips, pale green eyes alight with bloodlust, bronzed skin glistening with sweat over tensed, wiry muscles, unnatural, frightening movements testing the restraints. Blue and purple bruises were blossomed around each restraight, formed from days of psychotic bouts against them. The parasite would have gleefully ripped an arm from it’s socket, let the flesh pull clean, freeing them, but the goddess regained just enough control to stop this. Oh but what misery and despair could be made by ripping this goddess’s body apart despite the best efforts of all these souls, rife leaking into, to spread it’s chaos until all things self destructed into blood and emptiness!
Cool, pale fingers touched the bruises that formed on her pale skin; an ugly split on the left side of her lip branching out into ugly purples that bled into the equally horrifying unnatural colors on the same cheek. Abyssia had never wanted to experience Zila’s strength first hand but now that she had, the Shade could confidently say she never wanted to again. Zila being chained up left a pit in her stomach, yet it was the best thing for the moment. But that didn’t mean she was going to let her friend suffer in silence. Covering the rest of the bruises and gashes that littered her form was easy with a simple long sleeved black shirt, a pair of dark jeans and some flat’s. Abyssia plucked her favorite book, clearly worn around the edges and made her way to the claimed dungeon with the intention of keeping Zila company, and the beast by default. It was just a few moments later, or what felt like a few moments, that the Shade was walking through the door and taking a seat in the corner, out of reach of the beast that looked like her roomate. Crossing her legs on the chair, the Shade commenced her reading and ensuring the beast didn’t tear Zila’s arms off in its attempts to escape.
The events leading up to this newfound position was.. Problematic. From a trifling conflict between faculty roommates, to having to intervene on a physical level, Siegmund had offered his body and mind to helping the Wish Goddess in dealing with some inner demons. Offering his place of business as a residential security room, Siegmund saw to it that the restraints used were of the highest quality. Tasked with watching over Zila during throughout the days and nights, Siegmund stoically held this position. Standing by the entrance to the makeshift restraining room, Siegmund made a nod towards Abyssia upon her arrival, joining in the room,as she took a seat in the corner. Siegmund offered silence of the mind, arms crossed as he stood at the doorway. He'd restrained Zila once already this last few hours, he could and would do it again if needed to.
The night prior had been filled with nothing but flickering images of home, burning to the ground. Of citizens being destroyed, burned, or devoured by the very monster now eating away at Zila. It sickened Ephraim to think of the turmoil she must be enduring right now. It was why he'd gathered help, friends and family alike, to help out the cause, the source of these nightmare fuel. Zila needed saving.
Grabbing all the necessary gear, Ephraim set off for the bar, the location of imprisonment for Zila and the horror to dwell in. Upon arriving, it seemed Zila's roommate had beaten him there already, as the Golem on guard duty stood in the doorway. “Abyssia…. Siegmund” there was hesitation in speaking the Golem's given name, but that was for another time. Stepping past both of them, Ephraim stood before Zila, the stern radiance of his lineage flowing from him. “Zila, if you are still holding in there, good morning.” Hopefully small talk could be used to defuse the growing tension here.
Siegmund had done his best as a guard, aiding in keeping the goddess’s body from harm even as her mind grew wearier and wearier in the constant battle against the parasite. He was also less affected by its taunting, for while he was more ‘human’ that he might think, his logical side may have aided in ignoring its words. Or… Zila hoped so. The thing rarely spoke to him now.
The guilt she felt at seeing Abyssia was a bubbling amusement to the ink. It swirled around her mind, pleased at the turmoil. ’Imagine snapping that pale, thin neck. We should return her to the darkness, there is no misery there.’ The thing whispered, it’s voice creeping from Zila’s lips. ”You’re face, it pains my host, she writhes in agony, so weak, so pitiful. You have the means, to stop her beating heart.” With the goddess able to be reborn, the creature delighted at the idea of it’s host friends killing her, spreading to each of them while staying in her for the next reincarnation, continuing to spread, and spread, until it devoured all. At Abyssia sat to read, the parasite’s warbled, deeply upsetting voice gave way to sound more like Zila’s, pretending to scream and cry for release, a wailing which pierced to the soul, as a wounded animal that wished to live but knew it was dying.
The goddess could not reign in the things mimicry. Trapped in her own mind, she felt dazed, as if the world outside were blurry. She could still… feel the strength of her believers, but even this the parasite seemed to be syphoning. How much she wished to sleep… but she had to retain what miniscule control she had, lest she be lost forever.
Crocodile tears were pouring from the body’s pale green eyes as Ephraim entered and approached, begging giving way only once the man stopped before her to say good morning. Crooked smile followed demented laughter. ”She’s long gone, little knight. You fail, as your father failed before you. A true lineage of failures. You could stake your life on seeing if there is anything left of this pathetic lesser god, is you like.”
Clem had spent a lot of her free time researching things for Zilas sake. It stressed her out knowing her friend was going through so much pain. Tahlia helped keep her in check, but still...it was times like this she wondered why people ended up so strong in the first place. Normally Clem could write this problem away. The state of the magic being seemed to be high, so it would also be costly, but Zila would be safe. Clem learned though, that her magic wasn’t very effective on Zila. It was likely due to Zilas powers being what they were, so she had to use other methods. She clued in with Solaris and Ephraim on occasion and finally she figured out a way to help. It was likely they came to the same conclusion, or something, but it would be taxing, so they would need her help.
The new day had started, and she was excited to spend the day doing activities, but she had to take care of this first. Clem kissed her girlfriend and told her she would meet her not to much later, but Zila needed her help. She got dressed and since the bar was where Zila was before, maybe even on this ship, she still would be. It didn’t take her long to arrive and see everyone already here. “Seems I’m...a tad late.” Clem looked over at Zila, knowing whatever it was, was simply hanging out and being annoying. It felt wrong to not try and say something to Zila though, who she simply hoped could hear things. “The wait it almost over Zila….hang in there ok? She paid no mind to the response of the unwanted guest. Instead she got right down to business. “I think we might...be able to do...something. You guys find out anything more?” It was best to have as much information as possible after all.
The Golem was silent upon her entry and Abyssia didn’t bother him, unsure if he was asleep or intensely focused on the entity in the room. However, more people trickled in, some she had not met and others she had. The boy greeted her and the Golem, however there seemed to be a story there that Abyssia would pretend she hadn’t picked up. “Good morning. Sir Ephraim, correct?” the Shade guessed, sitting up a bit more in her chair and marking her place in the book with her fingers.
The being spoke, Abyssia’s bright eyes turning to it and blinking. Confusion bled into her features, her brows furrowing as she tried to decipher what it meant. “My face…?” she asked, her fingers yet again brushing against the split in her skin. Oh it was being literal. “Oh yes. This. It pains her? Whatever for? It hurts not and this should be a compliment to our dear Zila. I have not bore wounds like this since I was young!” Abyssia brushed off, giving the beast a sweet smile as it’s taunts continued. The words were confident and bright even though the Shade was lying through her teeth; the memory of Zila backhanding her so hard, it sent Abyssia stumbling back into their glass table was one that made the Shade cringe internally. The skin ached and the bones underneath it protested as it slowly mended. Had Abyssia been human, the Shade would have been dead either from the slap or going through their glass table. Thankfully, though, the school cleaned up after itself, Abyssia loved that coffee table. As it’s voiced turned more to Zila’s actual voice, she forced her eyes back down to her book, trying to take in the words but failing.
It tried taunting them all, to get under their skin, almost delighting in the false concept that they’d give it, and Zila, death. It could ramble on as much as it would desire but Zila’s death was the last thing on, at least, Abyssia’s mind. “Ah so vulgar,” Abyssia mumbled to herself as the beast ripped into them verbally, looking up as Clementine entered. Another smile, a real one, tugged at her lips as Abyssia eyed the girl. Clementine was a welcomed, familiar sight amongst the chaos that was happening. “Miss. Clementine.” Abyssia greeted but her smile faltered at the girl’s question and she shook her head. “I was unable to persuade… well anything… to let me return to my land to use our library. So I am afraid I was at a loss.” Abyssia offered, frustration clawing at her that she was unable to be of any real help.
The shifter had gotten lost, looking for the location of the ‘basement bar’ on this ship. The movement of it made her a bit queasy. She’d certainly seek out medicine later, but for now Solaris allowed the sour tang in her mouth to mirror her vague annoyance. She had been helping in research for some time, the runes she’d written to heal Ephraim having a strong connection to a cleansing ceremony of his people, though it had taken her a great deal to adjust the spell. She was aware Ephraim would prefer her away from this event. Clem as well. She wasn’t dainty though and she refused to be left out and leave it all to Clem’s book. She could help ensure this went well, with a method that had already proven useful, if taxing to Ephriam.
When she alas arrived, there was a defiant yet uncomfortable air in the room. Pitch black eyes landed on Ephraim. ”You should have waited for me.” Solaris huffed at him, having hoped he would have picked her up at her room. Eyes landed on Clem, tilting her head in greeting. ”Good Morning.” She also ignored the creature, though the sheer number of them seemed to clue it in that something was different about today.
Lingering behind on the concept of today’s events, Ostrava wasn’t sure how to deal with what was going to transpire today. He’d heard the rumors spreading around some of the staff, of the nightmarish folly that befell Zila. How, the entity that controlled Sar’Coroth Jones was now festering its way through her system, and was slowly winning. To think all of this could have been his own doing… that if he’d stayed smart during that island expedition.. No. No Ostrava couldn’t think that way today. Today was the day things were going to improve! Learning of the plan to help out his Goddess today, Ostrava had insisted on being present, his position as her paladin used to his advantage. Yet, even as he demanded the right to be present, he was fearful. Scared. Zila wasn’t going to be herself down in the bar prison, nor was she going to be happy to see him.
Shifting his book into a suit of armor, Ostrava had made his way down to the bar that held Zila imprisoned. A bright blue star adorned itself upon his chestplate of silvers and grays, the symbol of Zila proudly displayed. Seeing Clementine, Solaris, Ephraim, and even some other faculty members already present, Ostrava remained quiet. That was until he heard that voice.. That warbled, distorted voice, echoing from Zila’s presence. It sent chills up his spine, memories flooding back to that fight with the Iron Boogeyman. Standing next to Clementine, he instinctively grabbed onto her hand like a frightened child, unconsciously worried for what was going to happen.
The other faculty members were beginning to arrive, a good sign that things were ready to commence. They didn’t have long, judging at the state Zila was now residing in before him, but it would be over soon… hopefully. The warbled voice was quick to mock and speak ill towards Abyssia, the only member here that Ephraim had yet to fully meet. She seemed to be able to handle her insults in toll, making light of the insults or threats. With Clementine and Solaris’ arrival, Ephraim was rather quiet, a permanent stern look to his face as he nodded to them both. ““Clementine, Solaris.”” Solaris was quick to make comment about waiting for them, to which Ephraim only smirked. ““You know how headstrong I can be..”” He regarded, hearing the abomination address him. The spite, the hatred it bore towards him, it only fueled Ephraim’s desire to end this sooner. Approaching Zila, Ephraim looked beyond her tortured outer expression, to gaze into the creature itself. ““Twenty years I’ve been waiting for this.. Twenty long, grueling years. The very essence of your existence is but a blight on reality, and it sickens me.”” Ephraim was stern, harsh, and unrelenting in his own words. ““My father may have succumbed to your foolish tricks, but he was but a man of this mortal world. He sought only to do what he could alone. We however..”” Ephraim stepped back, looking from shoulder to shoulder at the other staff members gathered. ““Are going to be the ending of you filthy creature.”” Turning his back to Zila, Ephraim addressed the other members. ““Are we prepared to attempt it today? Waiting any longer could do irreversible damage if we prolong it any further.”” His eyes spotted the young student who had joined them, Ostrava. Seeing the boy present was a mixed feeling of emotions. The boy was going to suffer dearly for what he was about to see.
There had been little doubt in Zila’s mind that Ephraim and the other’s would find some way to save her. To let such a parasite poison her, she knew she would have to do an immeasurable amount of work to make it up to them. ’You’ll never get the chance.’ The thing mused in her mind, coiling further around it, having eaten every bit of the goddess’s fear, anxiety, and guilt to become stronger. The steadfast, iron willed belief and confidence the goddess had was all that kept her alight in her own, weary mind. She only needed to stay conscious… a while longer.
”Twenty years to build up to your most spectacular failure, I’m excited to watch.” The thing spoke in a tone that was reminiscent of Zila, mocking them and it’s host. ”You’ve already run out of time, and you don’t even realize.” A crazed, chaotic look shone in eyes that had taken an unimaginably dark sheen, more than the absence of light, they seemed to devour it, leaving an uncomfortable feeling for any who dared looked, the light greens which had still been visible before apparently not hidden behind the monstrous curtain. These eyes settled on Ostrava, a warped smile curling onto it’s lips, daring him to watch as Zila’s body lunged towards him, an audible ‘pop’ sounding as the goddess’s shoulder was removed from its socket, a fleshy, tearing sound of the limb threatening to be town straight off was not terribly loud, yet impossible not to hear.
Jaw clenched, Solaris looking to be putting in effort to hold the creature still, only having had a split moment to stop it from freeing its torse by also freeing itself of its lmbs. The possessed deity was strong, strong enough that the shifter was not confident of her telekinesis holding it still for a terribly long amount of time. ”If you’re all ready, then hurry up and start.” The woman growled in her matter-of-fact tone, words eaten up slightly by the creatures unsettling laughter.
The Shade was silent in her seat; the insults, the prattling, the promises, it meant nothing to her. And it was, frankly, useless in her mind. This creature was convinced it was God and the people in this room were convinced they would do something about it. This was a stalemate and no matter what promises they made, the demon would think itself superior. So the woman sat in silence, looking at the book in her hands but couldn’t read the words. Distraction sat heavily in her mind. The waiting; usually, Abyssia was patient but now… all she wanted was this thing gone and Zila back in Its place. When It decided to lunge is when Abyssia started paying attention once more.
The sound of the pop was enough to make the Shade cringe hard in her seat. But It wasn’t stopping there, It was fully intending to rip Zila to pieces if it meant getting to them. Abyssia dropped her book without a care to ancient thing and ran, all but tackling the goddess back into the wall. The Shade made a mental note to apologize profusely for the additional injures of Zila hitting the wall right after a shoulder injury. “Cease!” the Shade commanded the creature, firmly planting herself into place with one arm across the goddess’s chest to hold her in place as much as the Shade possibly could. But inhuman strength only went so far. Abyssia cast an assuring look to the other woman, Solaris, Abyssia’s mind provided politely, that between the two of them - they could, hopefully, hold her in place and avoid more injuries.
Clem had her book out, ready to go. Sadly, she couldn’t take care of this thing herself. The power it held would of taken so much more time to bring together. She always supposed that might be her weakness. Very large and power beings took more magic than she would have on hand sometimes. Saving up and storing it was the only way to help those things. Perhaps that’s why those in desperate need would go to Rumple instead of her. Still, she wouldn’t turn away from someone in need so easy. Zila was possessed, in simpler terms, and only because of that fight, so now it was time to put all their collective efforts together and get her better.
When Ostrava entered Clem felt a bit bad, she wished he didn’t have to be here. It felt better if he maybe lent the book to someone so they could banish it, but it didn’t seem to go that way. When he grabbed onto her hand Clem looked at him and held his hand. ““It’s gonna be alright. We’re going to get this done and everything will be back to normal ok?” The popping noise threw her back to the situation and Aby was already on the move. Clem nodded and opened up her book, ready to bring the creature out and into Ostravas book for banishment, that was the plan anyway. She had plenty of magic for this, just to execute.
The second Zila’s body began to contort and pop, Siegmund was quick to action. Though he did not doubt the abilities of the others here, he knew his strength exceeded theirs by at least seventy percent, minimal. Quickly maneuvering around each of the people in the room, he grabbed ahold of Zila, an arm going underneath each of hers. Assuming a full nelson like pose, he pulled her close to his own core, leaning back against the wall with Zila held in tow. "“We can resume the course of action. My body can take roughly fourteen hours, seven minutes, and thirty two seconds of this restraining before total breakdown.”” He calculated they wouldn’t need that amount of time, but who knew exactly how things would play out. Looking to Abyssia, Siegmund gave a small nod, signaling her to join the others. Having others within reach would be bad.
Ostrava was.. Overly concerned now. Zila was acting so monstrously, just like the Iron Boogeyman was during their fight. The savagery, the sheer lack of self preservation. His eyes locked onto Zila’s own, or what remained of her, and Ostrava could feel the pressure of death knocking at his door. Hand gripping firmly to Clementine’s, Ostrava knew this wasn’t a time to be a coward, it was a time to stand up and defend what he could! “You failed to kill me back then you monster, you shall fail once again today!” Ostrava shouted, trying to give himself the confidence boost he so desperately needed.
Everything seemed to shift so fast, one minute the horror was mocking him, the next it was trying to lunge out. With the Golem in place, Solaris and Abyssia aiding in restraining Zila’s body, Ephraim stood before her, or it. He was unflinching in his approach, staring directly into the eyes of a true monster. “Gol.. Siegmund. Keep her in place. Solaris, Abyssia, Clementine..” He looked over his shoulder briefly at them all, making eye contact before returning back to the horror. “Initiate step one. Once extracted.. We will have to act fast. Abyssia, Solaris..” His eyes never left Zila, but he spoke directly to the two of them. “Once it’s been contained, I will grab hold of it and take it away…” His eyes shifted to the young boy in the room, before up to Clementine. “Get everyone to a safe place after I vanish.”
The creature smiled at their confidence, confident in its own right that they could not remove it from this body without spreading it amongst them. Some of them looked like pitiful vessels, but it could conduct chaos from them nonetheless! Zila, steadied her weary consciousness in the prison, or safe room, depending on how one looked at it, at the back of her mind. Whatever they were prepared to do, she had absolute faith in her believers, as she asked them to have in her. The air began to grow cold, the creature warping the abilities her believer’s had granted her, ice beginning to form around the Golem’s arm’s where they touched her, the bitter chill digging its way towards his core, but held at bay by Zila’s resistance. As much as the parasite would love to see them fail, having all of their blood on its hands was an even more tempting notion.
With Ephraim’s command given, Solaris paused a moment, eyes flickering to Clem. A poison, or magic spell from Clem’s book had been the first option considered, but they couldn’t chance the fact that Clem’s magic did not work well on beings of her power level or higher. Able to release their psychic hold on the goddess, the Shifter floated Kirikyu from their finger, forming the ring into a box, which they took Clem’s choker out of. They’d been hoping another solution would be found, a brief moment of silence passed as they half expected Ephraim to say he’d found one, but there wasn’t time to wait any longer. Their runes, from the foundation point of magic, were the most likely to work in a successful spell. They’d already created one, they were ready to be projected from the magic stone adorning the neck jewelry but… Solaris was, at this moment, nervous. Being the one to ‘kill’ the goddess, would make her the immediate target for the thing She had much to lose, but… she would risk this for Ephraim, and trust both he and Clem to be sure they would not be in Zila’s position later. ”You’d better all be prepared.”
She didn’t want to act if they were not ready to save her, to become possessed over wrong timing would be...ridiculous. Only once she felt they were absolutely prepared did she project the runes onto the ground around the creature. ‘Death, Sleep, Cleanse’. She’d meditated hours on each one when she’d inscribed them to the choker, if she got the meanings even a little wrong, it would be her own fault if this didn’t work. The necklace Ephraim had given her rose from the box next, inscribing the last bit directly onto the ground with her powers, applying the goddess’s and creature’s name to it. Once the final stroke was placed, the floor under Zila glowed vibrantly for a moment as the spell activated, the runes and glow disappearing immediately after. There was little time to react as Zila’s body slumped and an inky, darker than black mass oozed from her, twisting quickly in the air, careering towards the spell caster.
Everything was beginning so suddenly. Zila was falling to the ground from the runes Solaris made. The horror of being involved in this situation, to be helpless in the corner.. Ostrava wasn’t about to stand by idly for this! Though the adults knew what they were doing, Ostrava did not. Letting go of Clementine’s hand, Ostrava stood triumphantly nearby, waiting for his chance to help out. But what could he do? They had given talk to what was going to happen, to seal the creature in some form of device, but what was to be the vessel?
Watching the black mass drip and slither out of Zila, Ostrava could feel his instincts kick in. It lunged at Solaris, but Ostrava was quick to intervene. Diving in front of the teacher, the ooze made direct contact with his armor, knocking him prone to the ground as it seeped into his armor. Tossing and turning upon the ground, the heroling was in a state of panic, knowing all too well what was about to happen. But, just as quickly as he’d absorbed the ooze, the armor itself began to glow, before expelling Ostrava out of its protective shell, throwing him out of the small room and into the main part of the bar itself. The armor convulsed and shook, the glow slowly fading into the books original form. The shaking stopped, but the book bounced across the ground like a heartbeat. The soul of the book had contained it for the moment, but would need further seals if they were to properly contain him.
Clem was ready and waiting. Once the runes were drawn she knew it would be mere moments before she had to act. As Ostrava let go of her hand, she brought out her pen and watched the form fall out of the goddess. Right away she created a resting nook for Zila for the time being so she wasn’t on the floor. The mass shooting for Solaris had Clem ready to move Solaris with a quick fwip of her pen, but Ostrava jumped in before she could. A light gasp escaped her lips and Clem saw the armor react and once Ostrava was shot from it, she turned the bar, temporarily comfortably soft, so he wouldn’t be harmed. The mass was encased in the book now, And Clem used her powers to bring the book up and hover in the air around Ephraim. “Quickly, I will make sure the rest of us get out once your gone.” Clem felt like she had one of the easier jobs in simply making sure the others were taken care of, but this thing getting put on another person she cared about was out of the question.
Siegmund took over, holding the goddess tightly and the Shade hesitantly let the body of her roommate go to join the others. Abyssia crossed her arms over her chest tightly, waiting for the next steps to take place. It made the Shade uncomfortable to put Zila in a death-like state but, from what she understood, it must be done. As soon as Zila was out, the thing was on the move to exact it’s revenge and the rest of it’s plan. Unfortunately for it - everyone else had the same idea. Ostrava jumped in front of Solaris to protect her, the mass sinking into his armor, but the armor ejected him out of it and it withered down into a book that had a life of its own. How the armor came to life like that was beyond the Shade but she was fairly grateful for the act. The book jumped around before Clementine captured it and held it still. Thank goodness for that, Abyssia had not wanted to jump around and chase a half alive book.
Abyssia looked to Ephraim before she approached the book, staring at the thing that held what had tormented her friend. The Shade’s lips pressed into a thin line; this thing could never escape again, no matter what. Abyssia detached her arms from her chest, holding her hands out to the book, palms raised underneath it, but never quite touching it. Whispered words fell from her lips, quiet and foreign to anyone in the room, before echoing almost creepily, bouncing from wall to wall. Thick tendrils of dark smoke rose from the floor underneath the Shade’s feet and surrounded her but the woman didn’t see bothered, almost as if she expected it. The smoke seemed to have a mind of its own as well, coiling around her waist, arms and fingers before a sharp command from Abyssia made them stop. The tendrils snaked from where they were, down her arms and around the book, surrounding it tightly. If anyone could see underneath the smoke, runes were etched into the cover of the book, on the spine and in the back of the book, in a circular pattern.
Abyssia’s arms fell back to her side and she stood there, almost as if she expected something, as her words kept bouncing around the room, growing stronger as the moment’s passed. Her face grimaced in pain, blood beginning to drip down her nose before Abyssia’s hands flew to her mouth and a violent cough ripped through her. When she lowered her hands, blood coated her fingers but it didn’t make her panic or distress. The tendrils snatched her wrists and pulled her hands forward. The blood became droplets, floating to the book in a bizzare, eerie way before a loud crack of a thunder-like sound ripped through the area and, within the blink of an eye, the smoke was gone as if it were never there. The runes glistened for a moment before fading into a deep black. Crossing her arms tightly again, Abyssia backed away from the book again. “I do believe it is your turn,” she invited the boy after the spectacle of almost horror.
The signal was given, the gears turned, and everything just began to unwind. Zila falling into a slump of death, Clementine catching her body with one of her well placed spells. Watching the monstrous ooze seep out of every nook and cranny it could from Zila was… horrific. It brought back unwanted memories for the Pathfinder. Of seeing his father slowly fall under the monsters control, brought to his own knees as a vessel for a ungodly parasite. Such a fate was unbefitting of anyone, especially his father. Especially for a friend..
With the gelatinous creature throwing itself towards Solaris, Ephraim would not stand for it. Shifting himself before her, he spread his arms wide open, ready to sacrifice himself if it meant sparing her such a fate. The young ward, a self proclaimed paladin of Zila however, seemed to intervene at the right moment. He’d seen what the boys book could do for him, and as it seeped into his armor, Ephraim brought his arms down, looking back to Solaris. He was.. Relieved they were safe, but the boy was in the danger zone. Watching him get expelled from the suit was a good sign, as Ephraim positioned himself nearby.
Abyssia was next up for the task, watching as this rather.. Unsightly scenario filled the room. Such ghastly magic seemed unfitting for someone who seemed so serene, but looks were often deceiving. He questioned not her methods nor the origin of her power, as Ephraim’s own came from being part of a race of energy. Such a status was hard enough to comprehend for his mind, let alone to explain. His eyes never left the book as Abyssia worked, even as her blood etched runes into the surface. With the room gaining light again, his gaze went to Abyssia, nodding. It was his turn to finish the job. To do what was tasked of him so long ago. Reaching out, Ephraim grasped the book. Looking to the rest of those gathered in the room. “Leave now, and if I don’t come back..” His voice trailed off, looking to each one for a lingering moment. “No.. when I get back.. We will celebrate the survival of Zila.” Putting on a brief smile, Ephraim vanished.
The middle realm of existence was normally peaceful, serene, and void of others. However, upon his arrival with the book, the void of nothingness was sporadic. Images of other realms were appearing like static, flickering in and out of awareness to Ephraim’s own position. The air itself here felt heavy but drawing, as if welcoming a long forgotten part of itself. “Welcome to your own personal hell..” Ephraim remarked, speaking to himself and the creature trapped in the book. Scanning the horizon, he spotted his father’s sword, off in the distance. It was time for the final seal. Treading lightly through the void, Ephraim’s footsteps echoed, filling the emptiness with endless sound. It was.. Haunting how eerie this place was. Reaching the sword, Ephraim planted the book upon the ground, lifting the sword up. The tip of the massive blade pressed gently against the books cover, Ephraim took in a deep breath, before plunging the blade through the book. SHINK! Cleanly piercing through the covers, the sword stood upright in the void, holding the book and monstrosity in place.
A few steps back, Ephraim took in some relieving breaths. The deed was done. The quest was complete. His father was avenged, his mother’s ultimate task completed. He’d done the impossible.. With the help of some amazing friends. Turning his head to look through the void, he found the soft silhouettes of the others, a heartwarming scene. Phasing back into the mortal realm, Ephraim appeared in the bar room, several yards away from the rest of the gang. “It’s… It’s done. He… Its been sealed away. It can never harm another soul again.” Ephraim remarked, walking towards the group. Stepping past everyone, he approached Solaris, disregarding any remarks she made, he wrapped his arms around his family, hugging her close. A smile across his face, tears streamed down Ephraim’s face. “It’s finally over..”

Toni had given some good notations about future events. The academy was able to make him do this stuff, how was to say they wouldn’t force him to do other things in the future? Still, the concept of allowing someone to just.. Tinker with his existence was a rather perplexing idea. Perhaps at a later date he would be more than willing to cooperate, but for now, he would refrain from allowing access. Her remark about coming to see friends first, how he was potentially in that category. It was.. Refreshing to know where he potentially sat in someone’s viewpoint.
He explained his functionality, and even exposed his core to her. She seemed handsy with the actual core part, blasting out a million questions on functions and how to protect himself. He didn’t particularly have any definitive answers to give the young lady, but as her questions came out so fast, he found her showing an elevated level of heat in her face. She was turning and backing up, but before he could even question her on what was the cause of this, she vanished, the bells chiming an indication for curfew to commence. Staring into the emptiness, Siegmund fastened his clothing back up, returning to his shift for the evening. Eventually visited by Zila and her posse of individuals, Siegmund did his best to answer questions, though little was spoken directly from him. Too many calculations to make.

~Time Skip~
Time itself seemed to accelerate at a rate the golem wasn’t sure was positive or negative. So much involvement with several of the faculty here resulted in Siegmund learning much more than he’d expected. News of his former roommate Tahlia returning was excellent, the reminder that her presence was in good health and was rooming with Clementine adding only to the excitement. Finding means to joining the rest of the staff for Tahlia’s return party, Siegmund brought her a cactus, a gift to share with her as a token of their time sharing a living space together. He would frequent her in the library to ask how things had been and if there was any new books he could have her read for him.
Having a new roommate though, Siegmund also spent what time he could allot to Abney, helping her adjust to life in Heartless. She spoke about her ship, of her engine room often, and when asked to, would help redecorate the room to make her feel ‘more at home’. Siegmund often remarked how in comparison, her home seemed better off than his origin world, as things potentially had a better functionality than a desolate planet. All in all, Siegmund found Abney’s presence a rather productive matter, as it increased his efficiency by at least fourteen point nine percent just being in her presence.
Aside from spending time with his roommate, Siegmund found himself accompanied by Toni in increasing frequency. She continued to ask questions, pondering over his construction, how he ran, and the full nine yards. Offering what information he could, he still refrained from letting her inspect his processors, as that functionality was saved for a later date. Something in his protocols kept him from just allowing access after all, but he wasn’t quite sure why. A forgotten memory hard wired into his system maybe? Nevertheless, he found peace and subtle enjoyment from her frequent visits.
Zila was starting to look worse and worse as the passing days carried on. Something seemed off about her, perhaps an illness or disease was affecting her organic makeup. It was a strange conundrum, as Siegmund wasn’t sure what a ‘God’ was truly classified under. He’d never studied one, nor had read any information on what a God was considered. Nevertheless, it seemed his assistance was going to be needed in the coming days, as other faculty members approached him about restraining the Goddess. Seemed an incident regarding a parasite was taking a toll on her, and as by request from Zila herself, Siegmund obliged. Day and night he stood vigil over her to insure her safety, and the safety of others to an extent. It seemed.. Wholesome to be protecting others. Was this a memory he hadn’t felt in a long time?

~Current day Morning & Dating Event Update!~
Siegmund had restrained Zila as best as he could, which seemed to cause some form of issues as the parasite tried to shut him down. Regardless, as the others finished the task, Siegmund offered what assistance he could to the others. In regards to everyone’s well being, Siegmund offered drinks later in the evening, but for now he had a prior commitment he needed to tend to. Having been signed up for some form of ‘dating event’ Siegmund was one for punctuality. It seemed the others were in agreement to all this, allowing the Golem to make his leave after the farewells were made.
Siegmund had wondered if his time helping Zila and the rest was better suited for him, as his antics at the poolside event seemed… deplorable. He’d spotted both Abney and Toni, gravitating towards the duo before beginning an analysis of them both. Were they potentially interested in each other? Was his presence intruding on their current rendezvous? It wasn’t until another male organic figure caught their attention that Siegmund made a truly horrendous scene. Protocols activated, as the golem declared a desire to ‘do a cannonball’ into the pool, thereby shutting himself down if he got there. The girls got him to stop, but a student by the name of Hebi seemed to accidentally throw vast amounts of water on him. Steam burst out, and boy did he cause a scene.
Reactivated by Abney’s assistance, Siegmund found himself migrating away from the trio of girls, wishing to cause them no further harm. Toni had gotten the brunt of it, skin bright red from hot steam hitting it so abruptly. Was this sorrow he felt?
Antonette Vanko
Toni had spent most of the evening tinkering with her tools and flat ignoring her roommate. She hadn’t even bothered to learn his name.
-Month Skip- The next month flew by and she was able to be rather productive when she didn’t have to worry about class. She tried to spend as much time as she could with Seig. He wouldn’t let her get into all of his core components but he did answer where he could. She had started to design and built a prototype however, every time she had started to make some kind of progress something happened. It was like something didn’t want her to develop a body for Val.
It was on a random off day that Toni was rudely interrupted in her workspace.
The day had begun as normally as it usually did: Abney waking up in a bed much too large but she was getting used to it, silence except for a crackling fireplace and the smell of food. Except… Abney blinked the blurriness out of her eyes to try and focus on the random paper on the side table. Reaching over, the Engineer plucked it up to find a map and a room circled with a ‘go to me!’ written in neat, scrawl cursive on it. There was a post it note on the map, the same writing on it to clue her in and egg her curiosity on.
‘A taste of home, without the foam.’ Abney tilted her head, her brows furrowing. Foam was probably a reference to the sea but… a taste of home. Pursing her lips, Abney got out of bed, quickly ate then set off. She squinted to the map, trying to follow the tiny halls on said map as more and more post it notes appeared. Some were arrows, others were words with cheesy rhymes to give her the most vague clues.
‘Glass and brass can make a lovely hourglass.’ One note said, making Abney even more confused. She assumed it was referencing an actual object, but was it? The Engineer shook her head, continuing on with the next annoying paper bearing an arrow. Picking up her pace and running down the hallway as her goal came closer, the arrows got closer and closer. Words made her skid to a stop, plucking that one up and adding it to the pile.
‘Wires and fire can build an empire.’ “What the entire crap.” she mumbled, deciding to forget about trying to translate them and continue on trying to find whatever it was trying to show her. Several turns later, two post it notes with arrows pointed to a door and Abney tilted her head again, raising a brow. It was pointing her to a room… Oh, was it a work room?! Excitement suddenly rushed through her, a grin breaking out on her face as the witch swung the door open haphazardly. Only Abney wasn’t expecting the room to have someone else in it.
---
Toni sat quietly enjoying the peace of her work space going over some data she had pulled from Seigmund. It was random calculations regarding the construction of his physical form. This part wasn’t proving to be terribly difficult. She was finding it hard to identify what the substances were called and Seig didn’t seem to understand why she would ask about what he was made of and often he didn’t really know what to say outside of ‘metal’ and sometimes the equivalent of ‘stuff’. It was extremely frustrating to her and she didn’t want to pester him too often. She was beginning to feel closer to him but at the same time wanted to keep her professionalism alive.
She was about to begin the next sequence when suddenly the door to the workshop burst open. Turning in her seat she looked at the door expecting to see Seigmund as he was the only other one that she knew about, that seemed to know where it was. Instead she was greeted with the face of an unknown person. Frowning she glared at the offending person waiting for them to explain themselves.
---
Oh boy the lady in the room looked super unhappy with her appearance and Abney’s smile wavered until it crumbled. A thousand things went through her head, all excuses and explanations for interrupting the other woman’s work. Why in the holiest of hells would the school send her here, knowing another individual was here and scientists of all kinds were very territorial over their work and their workspaces. Abney held the note, which was now folded in with the map, and the post-it notes a little tighter before offering it up for lack of anything better to do. “I got a note this morning, with a map… it led me here,” she offered, feeling lame about how blunt the explanation was. “It was… on the nightstand when I got up, I assume this sentient… thing of a building gave it to me,” the witch continued, feeling like that might make it better somehow.
---
Toni just blinked at the woman as she babbled on about some kind of post it notes and the school sending her there. Her face unbeknownst to her was a very ‘what the fuck’ look. She looked at the paper in the woman’s hands and then back up at her. ”And?” was all she said. Hearing a ding from the laptop she was working on she turned back to the computer. ”Not sure what you expected, but this work area is already claimed. Go find your own.” Her face turned into a look of disbelief and rage as she read the message that had come up on her screen. It was from the fucking school saying she had to ‘share’ her workspace. Did they not realize the work she did and the things this person could interrupt or screw up?! Turning back to the woman she jabbed a finger at her. ”You did this! What kind of shit did you pull to make them tell me I had to share MY workspace with you?!” her voice went up and she nearly screamed in rage as her stuff started shifting in the room sectioning it off. NOOOOOO!!!!! She had her things just where she wanted them to make sure they were effectively utilized! They couldn’t do this to her! Twirling in place she tried to grab a piece of equipment to stop it but to no avail before rounding back on this bitch who dared to invade her space. ”Get the hell out! If you don’t come back they won’t move anything!”
---
Abney almost expected the rage, she had expected the territorial attitude but what the witch hadn’t expected was the finger pointed, practically, in her face and the other woman to, frankly, lose her entire mind. The higher the woman’s voice went, the more Abney had to resist laughing until the fellow woman accused Abney of being the one to pull strings and get her in there. That’s when the witch burst into laughter. And that’s when she fully expected the other woman to try and murder her on the spot. “I’m sorry but you’re batshit insane if you think I had anything to do with this. I’ve been here two or three weeks and I don’t… even know you? It took a map and post-it notes for me to find this place?” Abney pointed out, a confused smile still painted on her face. That’s when the sky pirate noticed the things beginning to change and move; oh shit that wasn’t good. “I highly doubt it’ll stop on your demand!” Abney, once again, pointed out. This was not the best meeting, not by far. The witch recounted worse, but literally every single one was with people who were trying to murder her. Abney did not want a workspace if it meant this woman tearing her head off every three seconds.
Noticing movement out of the corner of her eye, Abney looked just in time to see something flying at her face. The witch ducked, at the last second, to avoid the item flying at her head as the room aggressively rearranged itself. That’s when Abney considered backing out, and taking the other woman’s advice. Until more stuff flew over her head and the witch scrambled to relative safety on the other side of the room, screaming: “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” every few seconds.
----
Toni rounded on the woman as she called her batshit insane. How the hell was she batshit insane?! ”I don’t care how long you’ve been here! The school works on desire. Have you not figured that out?! Just how dense are you?!” she knew she was being outrageous right now but frankly she didn’t care. Seeing something out of the corner of her eye go flying by her face to nearly hit the other woman Toni felt some sense of pride until she realized that it wasn’t a defence system doing that, but that her workshop was rearranging. Snarling she grabbed a few items as they flew around trying to hold onto them but to no avail. She didn’t even register that the intruder had put herself in a corner of the room screaming she was sorry.
---
Abney tucked herself into a corner, staying out of the way of the flying things; this insane place worked on desires. How the hell did it do that?! Was this building sentient and a damn mind reader? Suddenly - more than a few things made sense and the witch groaned to herself; “Pretty damn dense apparently!” Abney answered but it was probably more to herself. Now she just felt bad but kept it to herself until the room quieted down and only a few settling noises could be heard.
“I’m sorry for calling you batshit insane, I honestly… hadn’t realized how this place works.” Abney voiced as soon as she was sure the other woman wasn’t going to launch out of her pile and murder her. She was staying in that corner for now, though. The witch now guessed it had just refused her desire to go home and gave her something that was ‘next best’.
---
Toni knelt on the ground holding onto her laptop. She could hear the woman talking and it registered what she was saying. ”I’ve mapped a lot of the school and hacked a number of their systems. From what I can tell of the logs the school will provide anything the students desire or need. I haven’t figured out how they are doing it but they do. I wanted a place to work on my gear and other projects and it gave me this place. “ she groaned slightly as she stood. ”Seems I have to share it now though.” Toni looked the woman up and down critically. ”Names Toni. Toni Vanko. Who are you?” walking over to where her work bench had been placed she sat down her laptop before looking at the woman again. ”And don’t touch my stuff.” She figured she would just put that out there now.
----
Abney leaned her head against the wall, snorting softly. “Not everything,” she found herself mumbling to herself. The woman then decided to stare her up and down as if gauging how someone like Abney could even contend with her and exist in the same space. “Sorry - I… hadn’t wanted a place to work on my stuff. I wanted to go home.” Abney shrugged a bit as she admitted this. Technically - Abney’s literal home was an engine room… with a workspace… So maybe the sentient being decided a workplace would be like home.
“I’m Abney Demor,” the witch introduced with a small wave before snorting, yet again, to herself. “Miss. Vanko - I am dense but not stupid. Engineers are protective of their work and I don’t particularly wanna fight with you.” Well not anymore than they already did.
---
Giving Abney a soft version of a stink eye Toni stared at her for a moment. ”Fine, I just wanted to make that clear.” Turning away from Abney she opened the laptop and started pulling stuff up on it and running a program. It was almost like she had forgotten Abney was there as she moved about and muttered slightly to herself, when in reality she was talking to Val.
The aftermath of her meeting Abney was difficult to describe. She found what the woman did interesting and wanted to learn more but frankly… She also wanted to punch her in the throat. Toni hated having to share her space with someone else.
---End skip---
The beginning of the dating event had been uneventful for Toni she had been rather annoyed with lots of girls coming over to her by the bar. Had she picked a bad place to stay? That was until Seig had joined her and the idiot Abney. The two of them seemed to know each other and Abney had made a comment that she didn’t date students… Did that mean she was a teacher? Well Seig was the bartender… Toni really didn’t want to think about if the two of them were roomed together. After waving to another young man to be friendly Seig decided to go psycho on them and tried to do a cannonball into the pool. Toni had stepped in front of him to stop him but some stupid brat came running through and fell into the pool splashing water all over them all. Steam billowed out from Seig burning Toni lightly. After that Seig wandered off and well Toni did not want to stay near Abney any more.
Siegmund Gole

After the blunder of nearly shutting down due to unforeseen water strikes, Siegmund had spent a good majority of his time away from others. His inorganic design was hard to find attractive, or at least his scanners analyzed such. Being made of metal actually decreased his chances of getting up and remaining on the ‘Power Team’ roster by thirty four percent. So, instead of attempting to keep up on the leaderboard, Siegmund sat and refueled… or that at least was what he considered it. The sheer amount of alcohol brought to him could easily be mistaken (or actually be) someone trying to drink their problems under the table. Drink after drink he was brought, only to have them vanish within seconds down his throat. Fires were roaring within his core, temperatures were rising, but the Golem sat still for it all.

Nearing the end of the first round of this dating event, Siegmund had noticed one of the students, Iain the Mimic to be exact, had been hiding under the table he sat down at. They had a brief momentary discussion, the student realizing who he was and trying out one of his drinks. Apparently the student found them distasteful, as Siegmund apparently made ‘better drinks’. It was definitely a question for him to analyze at a later date.

When it came to for round two to commence, every contestant placed their votes in, putting together who was the new Power team and who was the Other team. Siegmund’s calculations were rather accurate regarding his own position, getting bumped down to Other team over staying on Power team. It made no difference to him, in fact made it easier for his choices. He didn’t have to make any after all. The Power team members would pick out who they wanted to date, and then decide the destination. A nearly ninety four percent accuracy was made to determine Toni and Abney both would pick him, a factor he found most… perplexing. He could sense a rising flame inside telling him to enjoy these moments. Was he… happy?

Toni had wondered around after that drinking and just watching people. Seeing Arika, the water girl she decided to go join their group. Saying hello had been easy but then she shortly realized that there were quite a few more people than she had thought. Luke had been there, someone named Lulu, and Ginnie… Toni had a hard time keeping them straight for a bit before a random girl had come up and challenged Ginnia, Luke, and Toni to a water volley ball game. Not one to turn down a challenge Toni decided to join. She wasn’t keen on showing her suit so she turned it to discs that floated in the air. The game itself was more friendly than anything and was just some back and forth of the ‘weirdos’ trying to show off their gifts. Toni of course took the back for defense. The winner was never really determined as they were quickly ported to a waiting room of sorts and the power team was decided.
Toni was rather shocked that she was chosen as part of the power team. Meaning she got to pick who she went on dates with… well wasn’t this going to be interesting?
Siegmund Gole

Round two was hopefully going to be less… problematic than the previous round. Siegmund had been dropped from Power team to Other team, which seemed to fit his programming better anyways. To make decisions on who to attend ‘dates’ with was definitely something outside of his generalized processing. Nevertheless, the academy, and competitors in the event, were on his favor, granting him drop to Other team. It then gave way to what would happen to him? Was he going to be picked?

His roommate Abney was one of those who picked him for a date, a result Siegmund had predicted with roughly a seventy nine point four percent accuracy. Her lack of.. True date like decisions however seemed rather intriguing, was she just trying to stall? Siegmund, being the Golem he was, offered to do whatever Abney wanted, but when the question was tossed back to him, Siegmunds backup protocols arose. He asked what she missed from home. If he could find that tiny iota of bliss for Abney.. Then he would take it. For now though, he had a plan for where to take her, based on her answers she gave.

Toni was the other participant who picked Siegmund for a date, taking him to the golf course. His strength seemed problematic, as his sensors on strength level were slightly on the fritz due to his overheating. He’d snapped a golf club in half, before Toni gave him a specially designed one. They did a bit of idle chit chat, before Siegmund found himself apologizing for his actions during round one. Toni seemed more concerned with his words, as his programming had overiden his necessity to self preservation. A part of his programming told him no, but Siegmund could feel a drive telling him to.. Let Toni take a look at his processors. It would most likely make her happy by a margin of eighty four percent..

Toni went on her three dates and was pleasantly surprised that she was able to have fun with each one of them. It was the first time she had considered that maybe this dating thing wasn’t so bad. At the very least she got to meet some very smart people.
Sieg ~
This date in the glow golf course was very interesting to say the least. Seigmund said that he knew why he had malfunctioned, but had it really been a malfunction? Was his protocols so much like a robot? She wasn’t so sure. He asked her if it would please her if she were to do the upgrade and while yes it would… she didn’t want to pressure him into doing it. She knew his design to please others. Not to mention she didn’t want to change him much from how he was built currently. She just wanted to make sure that he was safe. Ideas for the upgrade cascaded through her mind and just as quickly as they came to mind she discarded most of them or combined them. She didn’t tell him this though. She just wanted him to be happy and SAFE.
Arty ~
This was a very shocking surprise to Toni. She hadn’t been sure about the location but thankfully she had chosen well. To her pleasant surprise Arty was an intellectual like herself and was easy to talk to. She didn’t have to dumb down her language and he didn’t seem to mind the questions she peppered him with. While his area of study was significantly different than her own it was pleasant to be able to converse with someone in such a way. It was like she had made a new friend.
Luke~
This was the date that Toni would admit was probably the most awkward for her. She couldn’t get a bead on Luke at all and as their conversation progressed she just felt awkward. She challenged him to a game of DDR and he did beat her in the first round irritating her slightly but well you couldn’t succeed without failing a few times. So instead of becoming upset about she choose the next song. Maybe she would let him lead the next activity if they had time?
Antonette Vanko
Toni wrapped up her three dates and was only slightly upset that she dropped from the power team to the ‘Other’ team. It was only slightly surprising that she was only chosen for one of the dates. Given how the three dates went previously she knew that she could be friends with each of the men, but she felt like she hadn’t impressed them that much. It wasn’t in her nature to be a show off.
Sieg ~
This date didn’t go much farther, but it was still interesting. Seig had deemed it ok to open up to her. He showed her a small stone slate no larger than a deck of cards. He told her that he had not told anyone else about it. While it did make her feel rather special she knew it was a logical thing to do when someone could potentially help you. Not that he had feelings for her, but more that he at least trusted her. When he lifted her chin though to look at him a blush stole over her cheeks. He knew her intentions would never be to harm him but to help him. That alone was a pleasing thought.
Arty ~
For the remainder of their ‘date’ they discussed their areas of research. She was very interested in what he could do with his and he seemed just as interested in hers. She found it cute when he thought that taking her hand to look at the glove made of nano bots would bother her. She had practically done the same thing when he had made the garnet.
Luke~
In the next round of DDR Toni won. It was pleasing to keep things even. Having him choose the next game he picked a basketball game. They agreed to not use powers so Toni put her glasses on top of her head as they had a targeting system built into them. The conversation between them was rather pleasant and Toni found herself having quite a bit of fun. She challenged him to a wager in their second round of basketball. If he won he would get a prize and if she won he would complete one request that she gave him to the best of his abilities. He had proven to be very intelligent and it impressed her that he would be able to banter slightly with her, and not get upset with her. He also seemed to understand some of her oddities for avoiding normal people. When she won in their wager she was excited and very happy to hear that he would help her as much as he could with understanding the magic portion she needed to build Val a body.
Siegmund Gole
Ⓕ┈┈ⓘ┈┈ⓡ┈┈ⓔ┈┈Ⓗ┈┈ⓔ┈┈ⓐ┈┈ⓡ┈┈ⓣ
Nearing the end of Round 2, Siegmund found himself coaxing more out of Abney than she probably bargained for, getting her to spill the beans about her home. Taking her to the Scandinavian/Norse themed eatery was a good way to get things going and boost moral, but words were quickly brought forth from her. She asked about his planet, what he had missed most, which in turn brought his own sensories down. Simple statements turned to dire words, as Siegmund explained how his planet he originated from was dying. Not something that was a good topic during a date mind you. Hopefully, with time, they could amend this awkward situation with explanations.
The date with Toni was.. Nice. They had gotten through a few rounds of golf before coming to the topic of his own design, to which Siegmund finally began to explain things to her. Sharing the one shard of information he could, he found her well suited to providing potential answers for him. Alongside it all, he felt.. Compelled, to help her out. She after all, had offered to repair him in the past, and all she wanted was to derive from his design for Val. Was there more to it? He wasn’t able to analyze the real intentions yet, but as their faces were ever close, a split nanosecond of humanity flickered in his circuits. Was he.. Happy?

Again finding himself on the Other team, Siegmund awaited his chances for being chosen for another date, being brought onto one with a student by the name of Luke. Toni had also been chosen for this event, alongside another student named Genevieve. Their locale choice was… less than ideal for the Golem, having been grafted off onto a private island surrounded by a body of water. He would do his best to appeal to the Power team member, but would his processors get the better of him?

Round three was shaping up to be intriguing for Siegmund. Luke had proposed questions towards him, and as he factored in answers, the host had drawn his attention towards the others. It was a well executed, strategic maneuver, leaving Siegmund to ponder over his answers. What did he like to do for fun? Such words would rattle around in his processors as he eventually strayed from his safe zone. He was here for a dating event correct? He needed to get this ‘date’ on.

One of the girls who had joined wasn’t feeling well, so was escorted over to a shady spot with a pool of water to relax in. Was she a being from the water? Siegmund could feel his processors trying to analyze her existence. It.. intrigued him. Perhaps through future interactions he could learn more about how to survive the water and its terrors if he met someone who thrived on its presence. Toni seemed to know this girl Gennie, which made it easier to consider future conversations. A mutual organic lifeform between individuals was an easy ‘ice breaker’ so to speak. Humor.

Luke inquired about some information, so logically Siegmund scanned for an answer. Quickly finding the results in four point six seconds, he informed Luke and Toni of its origins and how to smash the watermelons. Siegmund felt a sensation of accomplishment from his actions, and a new programming record triggered inside. Was this something he'd felt before?

Toni finished all of her dates with a decent amount of success she thought. She had enjoyed all of them and knew she would be able to be friends with all of them even if they didn’t end up having a relationship. She wasn’t even sure if she wanted a relationship.
However, as round three came she was disheartened to see that she had in fact dropped to the ‘other’ team. This was very concerning for her because it seemed as though she had lost hearts then. Which meant maybe the guys hadn’t felt like she had? While she waited for her fate to be decided for her she waited in the lobby munching on the food snacks they had there.
Only one person chose her for a date. Luke. It was nice of him but very awkward because he also invited Seig and Ginnie. I am not exactly the most comfortable with group settings. Ginnie though quickly took a turn for the worse and had to sit out while the rest of us started our meal.
Toni wasn’t exactly thrilled with the third round of dates she had been sent on. Luke had picked herself, Seig, and Ginnie to join him. While individually she didn’t mind any of them…. That did not mean she liked being in groups. Acting as she thought a normal person would she realized towards the end that she was just making things worse. She could see the thought difference between herself and all of them and it was depressing to her realize she probably wasn’t compatible with anyone here. Sure she enjoyed their company but statistically given their reactions… she was not impressive. She was honestly surprised that Luke had chosen her as one of the ones for the group. While they got along she didn’t think they had hit it off that well in their individual date.
Seigmund was just as oblivious as always. She knew they had become close but that was only because she could be of use to him, and well… she had only wanted to get close to him to learn enough to build a body for Val hadn’t she? Ginnie had been sick for a time so she really hadn’t gotten to talk to the girl much. At the end of their ‘date’ they all played with fireworks. Toni had the desire to show off a bit but she refrained. She learned a bit more about what each person did at their homes. She had nothing spectacular like their stories to share. It made her realize that she did in fact always hide herself away in her workshop, and while that may have bothered others it didn’t bother her.
As the fourth and final round began she just frowned at the list of ‘dates’ she had to go on. Luke for a third time, a Jaiden?, and Arty again. At least two out of the three she knew the third was new. The name Jaiden rang a bell though as Luke’s brother. Well wasn’t that going to be awkward. Knowing how this round was picked she wondered who in fact had put her on their dislike list and who had put her at the top of their list. She figured it didn’t matter though and wouldn’t let it color her interactions with these men. She was good and tired of social interactions for at least a lifetime and wanted nothing more than to go seclude herself in her workshop and work on her projects.
Siegmund Gole
Ⓕ┈┈ⓘ┈┈ⓡ┈┈ⓔ┈┈Ⓗ┈┈ⓔ┈┈ⓐ┈┈ⓡ┈┈ⓣ
Siegmund’s calculations on the situation seemed to backfire the further and further he tried to bond with the organic lifeforms around him. Each word he spoke seemed to bring up a rather mixed emotional response from either Toni, Gennie, or Luke, Luke being the off response. Was he a different kind of individual compared to the others? Further investigations would need to be conducted, but Siegmund decided against it at that time. He was already ‘burying himself alive’ at this point, though being buried wouldn’t have much effect on him since he didn’t need to breathe. The analogy was still applicable though he factored. Nevertheless, he chose to remain silent for a good time until a good amount of time passed.

As the date was coming close to an end, Luke had procured the idea of fireworks, something that was rather enjoyable by organic life it seemed. Offering to assist, Siegmund held some of the bigger ones out, watching as the mixture of gunpowder and various reactive agents created various colors of light and fire. Despite normally not finding such factors to be intellectual, Siegmund was mesmerized by the concept that Luke brought forth about celebrations. Siegmund recalled, mild comments about the residents of his origin world celebrating a good harvest or hunt, but his sensors fixated on a further, broken record. Had there been better celebrations that he couldn’t fully remember?

Round three came to a close, and round four was brought forth. Siegmund surprisingly was selected twice, one for being favored by Abney (a calculation he factored would happen) and the other by a student named Emilia. He’d yet to meet her, but factored they could have some intriguing conversations over the matter. What was the academy doing will all this information?
The dating event with Siegmund and Abney went exactly as he had predicted up until it stopped. They were discussing Abney’s life, her preferences and how some organic lifeforms didn’t just seek coopulation, some looking for company and comfort. Those thoughts opened up new potentials for Siegmund, as he could serve as someone’s significant other over being their source for reproduction. Yet.. as the conversation steered towards children and the like, Abney spoke her two cents on the matter. She didn’t seek to have children it seemed, wishing for her bloodline to end with her. The reality of it was rather intriguing, but it brought on unforeseen memory sparks in Siegmund. He wanted them to leave but also to linger for just a moment longer. What were they?

The final date with Emilia was pleasant. She seemed to have a wonderful grasp on what it meant to be ‘human’. She expressed emotional ranges that Siegmund couldn’t even fully comprehend in his own actions, but yearned to. She seemed like such a upbeat person, Siegmund almost found him building a memory file to put her into in his sensors, right alongside Ellie, Abney, and Toni. Those individuals had proven to be ones who gave a general concern for his existence, but also brought… the emotion known as joy around them. It was probably for the best Siegmund had only just met Emilia, as if the person she regarded swaying her heart had been around now, he might have had a conflict with them. Hopefully just like her words portrayed, they would be able to have a wonderful friendship between them flourish.

Siegmund had began to analyze his own existence as this event was beginning to come to a conclusion. Was he always a Golem? What were these memory sparks he often was reciting and experiencing? Further concern and worry often would overcome logic, perhaps a session of experimentation was in order..
Antonette Vanko
Date with Arty
The date with Arty went rather well and she found the ability to dig a bit deeper about him. She found that he was rather interesting to talk to and she hoped that she could perhaps one day learn from him. She wasn’t so sure if she was giving the same impression to him but she sure hoped so.
Date with Jaiden
This man she could very well do without. He was much more dry than Luke. I definitely got the very strong feeling of ‘fake’ from him. I did find out what the two of them do which was very handy. Either way after just initially saying our parts we simply parted ways. I doubt I will seek him out in the future but I feel like I could at least be civil.
Date with Luke
Something had changed with Luke. I had the distinct impression of being judged during our entire date. It was not a pleasant feeling and while I understood the method of turning my own questions back on me, which he did a lot, he did not seem to like an undefined answer. While I find Luke interesting and he does owe me that favor, I doubt I will ever request it. I have the distinct impression that I was wasting his time at the end.
Overall Toni can tell why she hides away in her own little world in her workshop. She does not do well in social situations. How was she supposed to ever get out of this school? Would it be easier to find another method to leave? Was there another way? Surely there had to be… Seigmund was the closest thing to anyone needing her but he could also have Abney look at him. She wasn’t stupid. As she returned to her room from the dating event she just placed a set of head phones on and lay down in her bed with her eyes closed. It looked strange since she was still wearing her darker glasses but she felt the need to listen to music and just process.
